White Tank Mountain Regional Park
Just 35 minutes from Tartesso is the entrance to the spectacular White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Nearly 30,000 acres makes this the largest regional park in Maricopa County. Most of the park is made up of the rugged and beautiful White Tank Mountains on the Valley's west side. The range, deeply serrated with ridges and canyons, rises sharply from its base to peak at over 4,000 feet and provides wonderful opportunities for hiking on established trails and includes facilities for picnicking throughout the park.

Peoria Sports Complex & Surprise Stadium
Good news for Major League Baseball fans! Just a 40-minute drive from Tartesso is the Peoria Sports Complex, spring training home of both the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres, offering a full-schedule of pro ballgames during the month of March each year. And if that's not enough, just 35 minutes from Tartesso is the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers, both training at Surprise Stadium in the city of Surprise.

University of Phoenix Stadium
Just over 30 minutes from Tartesso is the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals. Recently opened in 2006, this is the largest indoor venue in the West Valley, and has hosted college football's BCS National Championship Game and annually hosts the Tostito's Fiesta Bowl. In 2008, it most famously was the host of Super Bowl XLII, where the NY Giants upset the mighty New England Patriots in one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever! Many other non-sports events are also held here and stadium tours are available.

Jobing.com Arena & Westgate City Center
Jobing.com Arena is a very active entertainment venue situated along the 101 freeway, just over 30 minutes from Tartesso. Home of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes, this arena maintains a full slate of sporting events, concerts by top tier entertainers and much, much, more. In addition, don't miss the Westgate City Center, a shopping, dining and entertainment center situated just north of the arena.

Sonoran Desert National Monument
Just 45 minutes south of Tartesso lies almost half a million acres of preserved Sonoran Desert landscape known as the Sonoran Desert National Monument. The Sonoran Desert is the most biologically diverse of the North American deserts, and the monument captures a significant portion of that diversity. The most striking aspect of the plant community within the monument is the extensive saguaro cactus forest.

Buckeye Hills Recreation Area & Regional Park
Consisting of 4,474 acres of natural desert, the park is located in the southwest Valley. Enjoy the rolling hills of pristine Sonoran Desert, with beautiful views of the Gila River riparian area. Facilities include picnic areas, a group picnic area and a shooting range. Buckeye Hills Recreation area is located just 20 minutes south of Tartesso.
